The Kentucky Tragedy spielen Folk-Songs und Fiddletunes, Country-Blues und Balladen wie vor hundert Jahren. Das Musiker-Paar von den Hügeln vor Braunschweig bringt mit Banjos, Gitarren und Fiddle amerikanische Folk- und Oldtime-Music auf die Bühne, handgemacht und authentisch.

Die beiden Zeitreisenden tragen alte Balladen voll lakonischer Wehmut vor und erzählen von den tragischen Ereignissen, die der Ursprung dieser Folk-Songs sind. Country-Blues-Nummern mit kruden Texten bringen das Publikum zum Lachen und die lebhaften Melodien der Fiddletunes gar zum Tanzen! Aus diesen Zutaten entsteht ein großartiges, abwechslungsreiches Konzert, das es so hierzulande eher selten zu erleben gibt.

The Kentucky Tragedy play folk songs and fiddle tunes, country blues and ballads like they did a hundred years ago. The musician couple from the hills outside Braunschweig, Germany, bring American folk and old-time music to the stage with banjos, guitars and fiddle, handmade and authentic.

The two time travelers perform old ballads full of laconic melancholy and tell of the tragic events that are the origin of these folk songs. Country blues numbers with crude lyrics make the audience laugh and the lively melodies of the fiddle tunes even make them dance! These ingredients create a great, varied concert that is rarely seen in this country. The Kentucky Tragedy takes the audience with a wink behind the forests and mountains of North America, to where the great stories are written: tales of love and loss.
